Made In Stirling is a new initiative to give local creative people and businesses the opportunity to display and sell a range of arts, crafts and design work in Stirling city centre this summer.

Based at 58 Murray Place, Stirling the shop will run from mid July through to the end of September and anyone interested in this opportunity to showcase and sell their work is being urged to bring forward proposals for the shop.

As you know the aim of Start Up Street was to revitalise the city centre by bringing new and interesting uses to vacant commercial property. The pop-up shop links in with the wider Start Up Street initiative, however, Made in Stirling is the first project of the newly formed Stirling Creative Industries Forum (SCIF).  SCIF is a branch of the Stirling Business Panel and is specifically focused on addressing the needs of people working in Stirlings creative industries.

The shop will provide retail and display space for the best work by local artists, photographers, designers and artisans.  It will also provide information on whats on, with daily listings of upcoming cultural and creative events across Stirling, promoting creative venues and activities across the Stirling area.

Garry Freckleton, Chair of SCIF and Co-director of Twenty Ten Architecture, said:

We are really excited to launch the pop-up shop and urge local creative businesses and artists to submit proposals to utilise the space over the summer.  In addition to showcasing some of Stirlings finest arts, crafts and design work; the shop will provide a wealth of information to tourists and residents on cultural activities in the Stirling area.

Keep your eyes peeled over the coming weeks for more updates and information. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek of the shop unit.
